Subject map and practical coverage

Do not treat the syllabus as a checklist only. Use each subject block to identify what to learn, what to practise and what to revise under time pressure.

General Hindi

Grammar, vocabulary, sentence correction, comprehension, idioms and one-word substitutions. Keep a personal error notebook.

Law & Constitution

Indian Constitution, fundamental rights and duties, public order, criminal-law basics, women and child protection and police awareness.

General Knowledge

Indian history, geography, economy, science, Uttar Pradesh GK, government schemes and current affairs with monthly revision.

Numerical & Mental Ability

Percentage, ratio, average, profit and loss, time-work, data interpretation and fast calculation techniques.

Mental Aptitude & Reasoning

Series, coding, analogy, direction, blood relation, decision making, observation and non-verbal reasoning.

Before you start

Eligibility and selection stages

Constable recruitment generally uses Intermediate/10+2-level qualification, while UP SI recruitment is generally graduation-level. Age, reservation, physical standards, medical rules and accepted certificates must always be checked against the latest UPPRPB notification.

Important: Recruitment rules, dates, vacancies, age limits, cut-offs and qualifying standards change. Verify them in the latest official notification before applying.

What the journey usually includes

  • Official notification and online application
  • Objective written examination
  • Document verification and physical standard/measurement checks where prescribed
  • Physical efficiency test and medical/character verification as notified
Turn advice into a routine

A weekly plan students can actually follow

Use this as a starting structure. Adjust the time blocks for school, work, coaching, health and your current score instead of copying someone else’s timetable.

Put this into my tracker
Monday–Thursday: one concept block, one timed practice set and 20 minutes of current affairs
Friday: UP-specific GK, law/constitution revision and error-notebook practice
Saturday: full or sectional mock under exam conditions
Sunday: mock analysis, physical training review and next-week planning
How to prepare

A preparation loop that improves scores

Repeat this loop every week. The review stage is where most score improvement happens because it converts mistakes into specific revision tasks.

1
Set the baselineRead the official notification and make an eligibility/document checklist.
2
Build the foundationFinish one subject block at a time with short notes and 40–60 practice questions.
3
Train with evidenceAttempt two timed sectional tests every week and analyse every wrong answer.
4
Integrate and reviseAdd full mocks, current-affairs revision and physical practice to the weekly calendar.
Clear your doubts

Questions students ask about UP Police

These answers explain preparation decisions. For eligibility and selection rules, always use the current official notification.

Should I prepare for the written and physical stages together?

Yes. Build written preparation and safe, gradual fitness work in parallel. Do not copy physical standards from old videos; use the latest official notice.

Which notes should I revise?

Keep one short notebook for UP GK, law terms, current affairs errors and questions you repeatedly miss. Revision quality matters more than collecting PDFs.

How should I use a mock test?

Separate wrong answers into knowledge gaps, calculation errors, misreading and time pressure. Each category needs a different fix.

Make the next decision

Study less randomly. Review more deliberately.

Start with one diagnostic paper, use the tracker to plan the week, and return to this guide whenever your preparation feels scattered.
