Before you start

Eligibility and selection stages

SSC GD is a constable recruitment route for CAPFs and related forces. Education, age, nationality, physical measurements, PET/PST and medical conditions are notification-specific and must be verified from the current SSC notice.

Important: Recruitment rules, dates, vacancies, age limits, cut-offs and qualifying standards change. Verify them in the latest official notification before applying.

What the journey usually includes

  • Computer-based written examination
  • Physical standard and physical efficiency tests
  • Detailed medical examination and review process where applicable
  • Document verification and force allocation
Turn advice into a routine

A weekly plan students can actually follow

Use this as a starting structure. Adjust the time blocks for school, work, coaching, health and your current score instead of copying someone else’s timetable.

Put this into my tracker
Four days: written subject rotation with 30–45 minute timed sets
Two or three days: safe running, strength and mobility progression
Daily: current affairs and one short reasoning/maths drill
Weekly: written mock plus a recovery and fitness log
How to prepare

A preparation loop that improves scores

Repeat this loop every week. The review stage is where most score improvement happens because it converts mistakes into specific revision tasks.

1
Set the baselineBaseline your written score and current running/fitness capacity safely.
2
Build the foundationPractise short mixed sets daily and revise one current-affairs capsule weekly.
3
Train with evidenceUse mocks to improve question selection, not only raw attempts.
4
Integrate and reviseFollow a gradual physical plan and confirm the official standards in the notification.
Clear your doubts

Questions students ask about SSC GD

These answers explain preparation decisions. For eligibility and selection rules, always use the current official notification.

Can I start running aggressively before the exam?

No. Increase distance and intensity gradually, include warm-up/recovery and consult a qualified professional if you have pain or a medical concern.

What is the best written strategy?

Secure easy marks first, avoid blind guesses and practise the exact language and interface used in computer-based tests.

Which physical standard applies to me?

Standards can vary by category, gender, force and notification. Never use an unofficial chart as your final source.

Make the next decision

Study less randomly. Review more deliberately.

Start with one diagnostic paper, use the tracker to plan the week, and return to this guide whenever your preparation feels scattered.
